Once upon a time, a girl was born to parents who spent a lot of time traveling the galaxy. One day, when she was with her dad, their ship was attacked by some very bad space aliens. To avoid being blown to bits, a brilliant scientist stuck them all in a time dilation field. They spent nearly 20 years in that field and she grew up into a very smart, very sassy young woman.

When the time came, time was reversed, and everyone went back to the correct age, except the girl. She'd opted to remain grown.

Catherine Hatshepsut (Hattie) Jackson continued working with that program, the Stargate Program, on their SG-12 team.
